A place to stay for patients’ families

The League of Friends’ bungalows here at Salisbury Hospital have now reopened after a full refurbishment. Thanks to generous local people, including those who have so generously left gifts in their Wills to the Hospital, and our many other supporters, we have been able to contribute a grant of £91,000 towards this important project. The bungalows can now provide a high standard of accommodation for up to 24 people whose loved ones are seriously ill in Hospital. We are delighted to have been able to work together with the League of Friends of Salisbury Hospital to make this much needed project a reality and on behalf of the thousands of people who will benefit from having somewhere to stay close to their nearest and dearest we send a huge thank you to all our supporters.

Each bungalow has a fully fitted kitchen, lounge and six en-suite twin bedrooms, which are available 24 hours a day – below are some photographs of the opening ceremony and the newly refurbished accommodation. You can also watch this video tour hosted by hospital Chief Executive Peter Hill.

The League of Friends is another wonderful charity raising funds for the benefit of patients at Salisbury District Hospital. Here at the Stars Appeal we are delighted to work alongside the League of Friends to fund important projects such as this refurbishment.
